Introduction

What is Homœo Consult?

Homœo Consult is an AI-assisted tool for classical symptom repertorisation following the method of Hahnemann and Bönninghausen. It is designed for experienced homoeopaths seeking methodically sound, reproducible support in the repertorisation process.

The programme is not a decision-making automaton. It is a thinking tool — it helps to capture symptom signs systematically and to develop a well-founded simile on this basis.

Methodological basis: Bönninghausen structured every symptom into four core elements: Localisation, Sensation, Modality and Concomitants. Homœo Consult extends this analytical base with Mind (§210ff), Side and NWS (Never Well Since) — as a practical synthesis of the Hahnemannian line. Mental symptoms are included as one of the signs, not as a hierarchically dominant category in Kent's sense. Kent and his derivatives (Synthesis, Complete Repertory) are deliberately not integrated.

Methodology

The Seven Signs

Every symptom entry in Homœo Consult is guided by the seven classical Latin questions. These appear as tooltips directly beside the input fields:

SignMeaning / Input
QuidWhat — the sensation (burning, stabbing, dull …)
QuisWho — constitution, type, miasm
UbiWhere — precise localisation of the symptom
QuomodoHow — modalities (amelioration / aggravation)
QuandoWhen — time modalities, periodicity
Quibus auxiliisWith what — concomitant symptoms, concomitantia
§153 PeculiareThe peculiar, rare, unusual (per Organon §153)
Workflow

Step-by-Step Guide

1
Create or open a patient Under "Patient History", create a new patient (name, date of birth) or open an existing one. Then select "New Session" to document the current consultation.
2
Enter symptoms Complete the fields: localisation, sensation, modalities (amelioration / aggravation), concomitants and the Peculiare (§153). Each field accepts free text; tooltips show the methodological significance.
3
Start repertorisation Click "Repertorise". The AI analyses the entries on the basis of the Bönninghausen method and returns a weighted remedy overview. The ranking of remedies is transparently justified.
4
Symptom Lexicon Cross-Check (SL) The SL cross-check offers six pair combinations of symptoms and compares these with the Bönninghausen repertory. A "Bönninghausen Confirmation Badge" appears when matches are found. Note: The SL cross-check is an AI-based approximation, not a direct database query.
5
Materia Medica & Differentiation The integrated Materia Medica button allows candidate remedies to be compared directly. Peculiare and Concomitantia provide the decisive differentiating pointers.
6
Differential Diagnosis Compare two remedies directly and identify polarising differences at a glance — presented in a clear tabular format.
7
Save and export the session The session is automatically saved in the patient history. Export as PDF (for the case record) or JSON (for backup / transfer) is available.

Methodological Notes

Formulate modalities precisely

The quality of repertorisation depends directly on the precision of modality input. Distinguish consistently between amelioration and aggravation and note the context (warmth, cold, motion, rest, time of day, weather).

§153 — Do not neglect the Peculiare

The peculiar, rare, striking sign is methodologically the most valuable. Enter here what cannot be explained pathophysiologically — the sign that distinguishes this patient from a hundred others with a similar diagnosis.

Use voice input

All fields support voice input. This allows fluid entry during the consultation without switching between patient and screen.

The AI does not "invent" symptoms — it only weights what you enter.
If the output is unclear: refine the modalities and repertorise again.
The SL cross-check supplements — it does not replace the practitioner's overall view.
Camera input allows analysis of handwritten notes or clinical images.
Multiple sessions per patient enable longitudinal comparison.
Access

Licence and Data Protection

Homœo Consult is available as a web application without installation directly at homoeoconsult.ch, and as an Android app via Google Play. The app runs on all modern devices (desktop, tablet, smartphone).

Patient data remains locally on your device (LocalStorage). No patient data is transmitted to servers. AI requests for repertorisation contain only the entered symptoms — no patient identification.
